The heart of Hispanic culture will come alive at Riverside Park (1850 Chaney Dr.) on Saturday, September 23rd, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. as Batesville proudly hosts "Batesville AmigoFest." This community event promises to be a celebration, spotlighting the rich tapestry of Hispanic heritage and the importance of fostering inclusivity, diversity, and equity within our community.

"Batesville AmigoFest is not just a festival; it's a testament to our commitment to celebrating and embracing the Hispanic heritage that enriches our community," said Brenda Rivera, one of the event organizers. "Through this event, we hope to create an environment where families of all backgrounds can come together, learn, and celebrate the vibrant Hispanic culture that is an integral part of our community." The event will feature a wide array of activities and attractions to captivate attendees of all ages.

Experience the energy and passion of music and performances showcasing the diversity of Latin American cultures featuring Alex Vazquez & his Mariachi Band along with DJ Cherokee.

Savor the flavors of Latin American cuisine with an assortment of food vendors offering mouthwatering dishes. From tacos to empanadas, there's something to satisfy every palate. The event will also feature a salsa and guacamole competition in which both restaurants and individuals may participate. Free hot dogs, tamales, and snowcones will be provided from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. outside of the main vendors that will be available.

Browse through a variety of artisan stalls, showcasing the rich artistic heritage of Hispanic culture. Find handmade pieces and colorful artwork from our area schools and local galleries throughout Riverside Park (1850 Chaney Dr.).

Keep the kids entertained with games, face painting, bounce houses, and activities that introduce them to the beauty of Hispanic traditions.

Explore interactive exhibits highlighting Hispanic Americans' historical and contemporary contributions as well as free books and reading materials from the Batesville School District to compliment their “Pioneers RISE” initiative, courtesy of Save the Children.

"As our community grows, so does the need for unity and understanding among all its members," said Bill Oliva, a representative of the event. "Batesville AmigoFest is a platform for dialogue and appreciation, reinforcing the idea that our diversity is our strength. By embracing our Hispanic heritage, we take a step towards building a more inclusive community."

Admission to Batesville AmigoFest is free, but there are some paid options that you can participate in to enhance your experience. Come join us on September 23rd at Riverside Park (1850 Chaney Dr.) and be a part of this memorable celebration of Hispanic heritage, unity, and community.
