Ensuring the safety and well-being of students, staff, and families remains top priority of Batesville School District during inclement weather. The decision to hold school can be both straightforward and challenging, and the goal is to keep Batesville School District families informed and safe.

INFORMATION

Batesville School District may delay the start of school, dismiss early, or close school due to inclement weather or other emergencies.

Due to changes in Arkansas law, public schools are no longer allowed to use AMI days to count toward their required days/hours of instruction.

After-school activities will be canceled on days when school is dismissed early due to inclement weather or other unscheduled closures.

There may be times when roads are clear in town, but rural, shaded, or outlying areas are not safely passable.

If conditions change after an initial announcement, the district may need to adjust the plan. Families will be notified as soon as possible through official district communication channels.

COMMUNICATION

While it is not always possible, the goal is to communicate a decision by the evening before a potential closure, or by 6:00 a.m. the day of.
