About Us

  • WEST ELEMENTARY (WE) puts Students FIRST. We ensure that every student reaches their maximum potential by providing hands-on, engaging lessons, using data-driven instruction, and a devoted, caring staff. We are student-centered, academically-driven and family-oriented.

West teachers personalize the K-5 students’ curriculum–students receive additional instruction in phonics, reading, writing, word study, English, math, and science. Social Studies is taught through our reading classes. All students participate in physical education, library, music, art, and technology classes on a weekly basis.

We offer after-school clubs such as K-Kids, robotics, coding, choir, bucket drumming, various sports camps and art as an extension for our fourth and fifth grade students. Individualized instruction is customized from our classroom and state assessment data on each child. Teachers customize lessons in Professional Learning Communities for what is best for each student.

West is a family-oriented school. Every student is loved and cared for by our teachers and staff. We encourage all families to participate in their child’s school events, by attending STEAM Night, as well as, our Books, Burgers and Bingo Literacy Night, Parent-Teacher Conferences, musical performances, class plays, field trips, and award assemblies. Our families enjoy our Family Night filled with games, food and fun. A school-wide Art Show in the spring allows every student to share their creativity with their families.

Our vision of Every Student Growing Every Day includes meeting our students’ physical and emotional needs. The Friday Friends’ Program provides specific students with food for the weekend. After-school child care is available five days a week until 5:30 p.m.

    We put students FIRST!
