Within Sulphur Rock Elementary School /EAST at Sulphur Rock Elementary, students work to inspire change through real-world experiences. A group of fourth-graders identified a critical need for a Safe Haven Baby Box in our town as there is a lack of this resource within seventy miles of the city limits. These boxes are meant to provide a safe place for parents to surrender their newborns without being shamed or even identified. Due to the efforts of our committed students and thanks to a collaboration with a local hospital, the project was approved and a contract has been signed to make this happen.
