Casey Burnside Named BJHSC Principal

BATESVILLE, AR:  The Batesville School District  is excited to announce Casey Burnside as the new principal of Batesville Junior High School Charter (BJHSC). With 14 years of dedicated experience in education, a strong academic background, and a passion for student growth, Burnside is poised to lead the junior high towards a brighter future.

Burnside is a proud graduate of ASU Jonesboro, holding a Bachelor of Science in Mid-Level Education, a Master of Science in Educational Theory & Practice, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership-Principalship. Additionally, she is National Board Certified, highlighting her commitment to excellence in teaching and leadership.

Starting her career as the STEM lab teacher at Sulphur Rock, Burnside quickly moved into classroom teaching, specializing in fourth grade. Her leadership journey began as an Academic Coach, later transitioning to Dean of Students. This diverse experience has equipped her with a deep understanding of the educational landscape and a unique perspective on fostering positive school culture.

"I believe junior high education is more than imparting knowledge; it's about fostering growth, building confidence, and helping students find their way in the world," says Burnside. "I aim for BJHSC to be an exciting place for learning, where kids thrive and parents are eager to send them off, knowing their students will receive top-notch education and plenty of fun opportunities to just be kids."

Dr. Ken James, Batesville School District Superintendent, who shares her vision for enhancing the school's culture and academic performance shared his sentiments. "We are thrilled to welcome Casey Burnside as our new Junior High Principal," says James.

"Her extensive experience and dedication to student success align perfectly with our goals of improving school culture,boosting morale, and elevating our test scores. Together, we will create an environment where every student feels valued, challenged, and supported.”

Outside of her professional achievements, Burnside is a loving wife to TJ of 18 years and mother to two daughters, Avery and Anna James who both attend the Batesville School District. Her family values and commitment to community make her an ideal leader for BJHSC.
