Arkansas will welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors on April 8, 2024, for the Great North American Eclipse! The total solar eclipse will begin at 1:45 p.m. CDT in Arkansas, with the final exit of the moon's shadow from the state at 2 p.m. CDT. During this time, the entire state will experience between 94 and 100 percent obscurity of the sun.

This is an exciting event for the Natural State, as more than 20 years will pass before the next total solar eclipse occurs in the United States (August 23, 2045). From partnering with the University of Central Arkansas in Conway on a data collection project to providing robust learning opportunities for blind and visually-impaired students, we are excited to be a part of this once-in-a-lifetime event.

To encourage and support learning, we also are pleased to share helpful information and resources, including a link to an interactive solar eclipse map. Be sure to visit this page often, as new events and opportunities are added each week!
