BUS DRIVER REQUIREMENTS
· Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class B with Passenger Endorsement
· Option: Air Brakes
· Written Exam:
Sections: 1, 2, & 3 General Knowledge
Section: 4 Passenger Endorsement
Section: 5 Air Brakes
· Driving Exam:
Pre-Trip: Become familiar with the mechanical parts of the bus.
(Location of hoses, bells, switches, brakes, suspension, etc.)
Skills: Become comfortable operating the bus through a series of skills.
(Pulling the bus forward & reverse, turning, backing, etc.)
Open Road: Become comfortable operating the bus on local streets &
roads.
* The written exam can be taken at the State Police CDL Testing Center
in Batesville located at 393 E College St (Located behind the County Library
on the corner of 4th & College).
** The driving part of the exam can be taken at the Batesville Public
Schools Transportation Department. A trainer can instruct potential applicants
in learning the points of the driving exam.
*** Bus Drivers must be a minimum of 19 years if age.
**** All employees must pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
***** All employees must have an active TB Skin Test.
****** All employees must have a Finger Print Background check.
